SOY MAGDALENA…Y HE PECADO

Me han maltratado
Me han herido
Por dar lo que me exigen
Me han perseguido.
Mis ropajes me han desgarrado
Tanto y aun mas
mi moribundo Corazon
y sin latidos.
Tengo ojos, tengo oidos;
Tengo manos y mis sentidos.
Mas mi boca no grita
Todo lo que he vivido;
De lo que hoy me acusan
Aquello que ayer me habian pedido.
Ellos que,
de dia me apedrearon,
Y de noche conmigo han dormido.
Represento a toda mujer
Que en el mundo se le ha juzgado;
Por prejuicios o por genero,
Por machismo o egoismo.
O por un vestir no aprobado
El sonido me ha sido callado
De mi voz mas no mi espiritud,
Que seguira luchando.
Aun contra la corriente,
Como junco en el rio;
Mas, quebrarse jamas!
Mientras Dios este conmigo.
SOY MAGDALENA Y HE PECADO
Y no me asusta ningun juicio
Solo de El, que me extendio su mano,
Y el cielo me ha prometido.
I'M MAGDALENA... AND I HAVE SINNED
I have been mistreated
I've been hurt
I have been persecuted
and my cloth has been torn.
Even more,
my dying heart
and without heartbeats
Survives the harm.
I have eyes, I have ears,
I have hands and I do feel;
but my mouth doesn't shout
all I should heal.
For what I have been accused
It’s for I have been asked;
Them, who stoned before,
Then who slept with me, once.
I do represent every woman
That in the world has been judged;
by prejudice or by gender,
selfishness or self-regard.
Even in the countercurrent
Like reed in the river;
It might fold
but, break it won’t.
I’m Magdalena… and I have sinned,
and I'm not afraid of any judgment
but Him, who extended his hand to me
And his heaven has been promised.
