Truth or Consequences Screening and Talk Back (Albuquerque)

GET TICKETS.

About the film: Truth or Consequences is a speculative documentary about time and how we weave the past into the present and our possible future. Set in Truth or Consequences, NM, the film takes place in the shadow of the world's first commercial Spaceport. Subtly set in a near future when space travel has begun, the film follows five residents in the town. Anchored in observational documentary footage, the film weaves together archival, virtual reality worlds, an improvised score by Bill Frisell, and a speculative premise based on the very real spaceport located just outside of town. These intertwine to create a lyrical meditation on progress, history, and how we navigate a sense of loss within ourselves and a changing world.

Speakers Bureau to Reopen October 1!

Dear Speakers Bureau Hosts and Presenters:

We are pleased to announce that, after an eighteen month hiatus in public programming due to the Covid-19 pandemic, that we will reopen our Speakers Bureau program on October 1st. We will continue to monitor and respond to state and local reopening regulations and safety practices, and encourage our presenters and host organizations to use their best judgment and follow all applicable guidelines throughout this period.

Speakers are asked to confirm any potential bookings with the host organization and also confirm with Keelyn Byram (keelyn@nmhumanities.org; 505-633-7370, ext 101) to advise on their plans going forward.  Sponsor organizations and speakers are encouraged, also, to direct questions and concerns to Keelyn at the email address and phone number listed. In addition, if you represent an organization that would like to host speakers as a NMHC partner or if you are interested in proposing or developing a program as a speaker/presenter, please also let us know! We appreciate your continued patience as we reintroduce this longstanding and well-loved program with a new roster (with some old favorites) and we welcome any questions or feedback.

Stay safe and thank you for your patience with our organization during this time.
